Children Swimming Lessons

Benefits of Swimming for Children

Drowning is the third leading cause of all unintentional injury deaths worldwide, especially for children between 4 to 6 years old.

Thankfully, studies have shown that we can reduce these risks by as much as 88% when a child learns how to swim. This is also why swimming is regarded as an essential life skill that everyone should have, and it has been included as a part of the school’s curriculum by the Ministry of Education.

At Super Swimmies, our vision is to ensure that children learn this important skill through a fun and engaging environment. Our specially curated syllabus also follows closely to SwimSafer, a national water safety program developed to raise the standard of swimming proficiency in Singapore. This SwimSafer programme is created specially for children below 16 years old, and will help evolve your child from a non-swimmer into a good swimmer. This is the only program that is recognised by all schools, institutions and water-related sports in Singapore.

Learn to Swim Progression

Our swimming lessons specially are designed according to the Singapore Sports Council’s SwimSafer syllabus, starting from Stage 1, 2 & 3 to Bronze, Silver and Gold. At each stage of progression, we focus not only on proper swimming skills, but also water safety and life saving skills.

Important Message To Parents

Dear parents, you play an important role in your child’s swimming journey. We would like to help our students to learn in a fun and stress-free environment. As such, here are some pointers we would like to share with you to make the learning experience an enjoyable one.

  • Please do not expect your child to be able to swim as soon as they start their classes as swimming abilities varies from individual. Let your child develop their swim skills gradually at their own pace as putting pressure on them and expecting quick results will be counter-productive to their improvements.
  • Practice makes perfect. Every student needs regular lessons and training, so do ensure that they do not skip classes unnecessarily.
  • If your child doesn’t seem to be interested in swimming, don’t give up. We have many children who lack interest in the beginning, only to realise that they enjoy swimming immensely as they get better. Our fun-filled swimming curriculum is also specially designed to target at piping the children’s interest so that they learn through play.
  • Please avoid comparing your child’s progress with another as this may discourage the child from learning and putting in their best.
  • We care for our instructors as much as we care for your children. As such, should you have any feedbacks regarding the lessons, please feel free to discuss with our coaches. However, we will not tolerate any physical and verbal abuses.
